BIRMINGHAM Brummies head into the first leg of the Premier Trophy Speedway Final without two key riders on Sunday.
The Perry Barr side go to Newcastle with both Chris Kerr (leg) and Aaron Summers (collarbone) still ruled out despite having practice in the last week.
Club asset Lee Smart comes in for Kerr at reserve and Summers will be covered by the rider replacement facility with his four programmed rides going to his team-mates.
Boss Graham Drury admits the priority is to keep the scores as close as possible on Tyneside before the return leg at Perry Barr on Wednesday.
He said: "We will go up there and give it evertything we've got. We were brilliant in the group stages of the Trophy and our priority is to keep the scores as close as possible before we get them back to Perry Barr on Wednesday.
"Even with our injury problems I feel confident the team we have can do the job and it would be a massive boost for us all if we can go forward and win a major national title."
The sides have also been drawn to meet each other in the Premier League Knockout Cup semi-finals.
